Kevin Smith began his golf instructional career in 1976 as first assistant at Tam O'Shanter Golf Club in Brookville, Long Island; where he taught through 1988. Since then, Kevin has been head golf professional of Montauk Downs State Park as well as Director of Golf at Sunken Meadow State Park. Kevin has been one of the driving forces behind the building of the Montauk Downs community and has been especially important in the Friends of Montauk Downs fundraising activities. In addition, Kevin is part of the local business community and an anchor at Montauk Downs as owner and President of Tee-To-Green Pro Services, which operates the Pro shop at Montauk Downs and Sunken Meadow. In 1998, Kevin was awarded the Merchandiser of the Year by the Metropolitan Section, and in May 2007, Kevin celebrated 25 years of membership in the PGA of America. Kevin recently completed a training seminar for Nike club fitting, which made his shop one of only 75 in the country to have their own new Nike 360 club fitting system. One of the most memorable of Kevin’s 25 years at Montauk Downs was in 2002, when Kevin scored two holes-in-one, becoming the only club pro with an ace at Montauk Downs. The Hamptons Golf School would not be possible without the creativity, open-mindedness, and hard work of Kevin Smith and his faculty of instructors.

ERIC SCHULTZEL

Eric Schultzel was a member of the Brevard College Golf Team in Coca Beach, Florida and has been a teaching professional at Montauk Downs since 2001. Presently, he is a PGA Member, Class A-8. In addition to conducting private, semi-private and playing lessons, Eric has been instrumental in developing the Junior Golf Program in effect since 2001. A great deal of the success of that program is credited to his energy, enthusiasm, appreciation of the kids, and love for the game of golf. He has also done his part to support the fund raising activities at Montauk Downs that currently are enjoyed by the students of the Hamptons Golf School. The Hamptons Golf School is extremely lucky to have Eric as an integral part of its golf staff, and looks forward to his long-term involvement.

TOM LUPINACCI

Tom is a PGA of America Life Member with over 33 years of teaching experience in every facet of golf-related subjects such as rules of golf, merchandising, golf psychology, and swing techniques. Throughout his career as golf professional, Tom has successfully instructed thousands of golfers from youth beginners to advanced adults and seniors. Tom has been a teaching professional at Montauk Downs since 2000. Prior to Montauk, Tom spent two years at Pound Ridge Golf Club, Pound Ridge, NY, and twenty-two years as head golf professional at Sterling Farms Golf Club, Stamford, CT.

Tom achieved low professional 1997 and 1998 at the CT Senior Open. He is the course record holder at Sterling Farms with a 64, and at Broken Sound Golf Club, Boca Raton, FL with a 64. Tom is also a dealer in high quality golf memorabilia and was awarded merchandiser of the year, metropolitan section, 1980, 1985, 1993 and is a current member of the majestic Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass. Tom’s enthusiasm, ability, and huge amount of experience are a major reason for the great credibility and reputation that the Hamptons Golf School proudly boasts.

PAUL DICKINSON

Paul is a native of Montauk, NY. He has played professionally for the past eight years. During that time, Paul has competed on the PGA, Nationwide, Hooters and other various tours around the country. In 2003 he was a full time member of the Nationwide tour. Over that period of time, he has established relationships with some of the top ranked players in the world and has been taught by some of the top ranked teachers in this country. With his playing background, the knowledge he has gained through lessons, and his relationships with other prominent members of the professional golfing world, there is no doubt he will be an influential aspect of the Hamptons Golf School.

KATE TEMPESTA

Kate Tempesta is an esteemed member of the LPGA. She is also a Certified Athletic Trainer (A.T.C.) under the Board of Certification and the National Athletic Trainers Association, the national membership organization for the profession of athletic training. In addition, she recently successfully completed the Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness training program, and is now trained to fit clubs using the Nike 360 fitting system. Kate is an extremely popular and effective golf instructor at Montauk Downs, and will conduct golf lessons and clinics for both adults and juniors at the Hamptons Golf School. Kate is an expert in golf-related fitness, namely core training, balance, movement, and flexibility; and will be supervising the Hamptons Golf School golf fitness classes.
